Fairlie Ladies Club awards scholarship to McQueary

Maudine Bishop (right), of the Fairlie Ladies Club, awards Abby McQueary a Striving Senior Scholarship. The $300 scholarship is to assist with the expenses that a senior encounters during their senior year. Abby resides in Fairlie and is a member of the News Crew, president of the National Honor Society, a member of the yearbook staff and volunteers for the Big Brother/ Sister organization. Abby has been accepted to the Honors College at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she will attend in the fall. The Fairlie Ladies Club’s annual Cornbread and Beans luncheon will be on Saturday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairlie Community Center. All proceeds from the luncheon go towards awarding scholarships to Commerce High School seniors. All are welcome to attend.
