For more than six decades, the Greenville Kiwanis Club has offered area residents an opportunity to bid on unusual and valuable items, with the proceeds going to benefit local children.

The tradition continues this week, with the 66th annual Kiwanis Charity Auction.

The primary beneficiary of this year’s event is the Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) in the Greenville Independent School District. The auction is scheduled Thursday night in the Career and Technology Center at Greenville High School and the dinner will be prepared by the Greenville ISD Culinary Arts Program.

Dozens of items will be up for sale to the highest bidder during the auction, all donated by local individuals and businesses.

Lists of the items up for bid and additional details will be included in Wednesday’s Herald-Banner. There will also be several “Big Board” items available for purchase, including the priceless and commemorative Kiwanis Maltese Falcon.

Those wishing to make a donation, or who may want additional information, may contact Dale Stephenson at dale@dfsconsult.com or by phone at 903-259-6417.
