Sole finalist named for A&M-C president
Dr. Dan Jones currently serving as provost at Texas A&M International

Dr. Dan Jones of Texas A&M International University in Laredo has been named the sole candidate remaining to become the next president of Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Jones will be on the A&M-Commerce campus April 2-4 to meet with various on- and off-campus groups. He will also be attending several open forums that will give students, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders an opportunity to meet Jones.
The faculty open forums will be Thursday, April 3, at 1 p.m. in the Founders Lounge and Friday, April 4, at 9 a.m. in the Leadership Lounge.
The staff forum will be Thursday, April 3, at 4 p.m. in the Founders Lounge, and the student forum will be Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. in the Founders Lounge.
There will be a reception Thursday, April 3, at 5:30 for alumni and community leaders in the Leadership Lounge.
Jones is currently the provost, vice president of academic affairs, chief student affairs officer and professor of English at Texas A&M International University. He has also held many leadership positions, including dean of University College and associate dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Houston-Downtown.
