CLI Barbecue kicking off Bash Friday

The Commerce Leadership Institute Class of 2008 invites you to eat more beef .. barbecue beef, that is. Once again Barbecue in a Bag will be offered for sale downtown on the square in Commerce on Friday evening, Sept. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m., on the opening evening of the 23rd annual Bois d’Arc Bash.

Enjoy a scrumptious brisket sandwich, crispy chips, a yummy homemade cookie, and an ice cold drink, all for just $5. Tickets can be purchased that evening, or buy a ticket in advance so that you can pull up in your car, get your bag o’ goodies and drive away. Or take your bag over to a table and enjoy the music, engage in some people watching and be the envy of everyone.

Advance tickets are being sold by class participants and can be found at Alliance Bank, City Hall, Guaranty Bond Bank and Presbyterian Hospital. A special “two for one” offer is available when you buy your tickets at Northeast Texas Children’s Museum: For every barbecue ticket you purchase, you will receive one free pass for a child’s admission to the Children’s Museum. (This offer is good only at the museum location.)

The CLI Class of 2008 has had many wonderful supporters in the community who have helped make this possible, especially Brookshire’s who generously donated $750 toward this communitywide event and toward the training of future leaders of the community, individuals committed to the health and welfare of Commerce and its citizens.

(For more information about the Commerce Leadership Institute, please call Dixie Turman, 903-886-7774.)
