Woman pleas not guilty in knife attack

A Commerce woman has pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated assault, in connection with a reported 2008 knife attack.

Patricia Nell Price, 29, was arraigned Monday during a hearing in the 354th District Court. Judge Richard A. Beacom accepted the plea and set a tentative trial date of April 12, 2010 in the case.

Price was indicted by the Hunt County grand jury in August on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The indictment alleged Price used a knife to cut a male victim on Sept. 13, 2008.

Aggravated assault is a second degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from two to 20 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.
