COMMERCE — A Seagoville man who escaped state custody Saturday afternoon is still on the loose after eluding authorities Tuesday morning.

Leslie Ellison, 32, was being transported from Terrell State Hospital to an area hospital on Nov. 30 after injesting batteries. He managed to escape the transport vehicle and elude capture. A vehicle authorities believe Ellison stole was spotted in Seagoville on Tuesday morning, and, after being pursued by police, the driver of the vehicle fled on foot near the Shady Creek Mobile Home in Dallas.

Ellison, who has been arrested multiple times, had been arrested earlier this year in Commerce.

On May 13, 2013 the Commerce Police Department received a call from a Forney-based car dealership, alerting them that one of their vehicles had been stolen. A GPS trace on the car led CPD to the 700 block of Park Street, where Ellison was arrested and charged with theft of over $1,500 and under $20,000 and possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1 under one gram. At the time, Ellison also had an escape alert from the Terrell State Hospital, a robbery warrant and three burglary of a motor vehicle warrants out of Collin County, as well as an assault on a public servant warrant out of Freestone County.

Commerce Police urge residents to call 911 if he is seen.
