Obituaries for May 1, 2008

Ray Shaw

Ray W. Shaw, 90, of Cooper died April 24, 2008, in Greenville.

He was born March 18, 1918, in Dallas. Mr. Shaw was a retired machinist, and also route salesman selling water shut-off keys. He was of the Baptist faith, and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a brother-in-law, Melvin A. Schroth of Campbell; a nephew and niece Kenneth and Deborah Howton of Greenville; great-nephew and niece Chris and Melissa Bryant of Campbell; a great-nephew, Kevin Howton of Greenville, great-great-niece Morgan Bryant; and great-great-nephews Trevor Hunter, Jarrett Bryant and Seth Bryant, all of Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Mae Shaw.

Funeral service were held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Abby Chapel located at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with Randy Rather officiating.

Lynch Funeral Service, Greenvillem, was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Clang

BONHAM — Robert Raymond Clang was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Norwich, Conn., and died April 21, 2008, in Bonham following a brief illness.

Lt. Col. Clang retired from the U.S. Army in 1975 following a 20-year career and two distinguished tours of duty in Vietnam. Bob enjoyed a successful real estate and insurance business in Ladonia, as well as serving with the U.S. Postal Service for several years in his hometown.

Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Juanita Bryant Clang; sons Tim and wife Cathee, Mike and wife Tiffany, Patrick, and Rob and wife Debra; a daughter, Nancy Clang Knoll and husband Mark; stepson David Lambert; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Richard, Joseph, David and Ray; and 17 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Felix Clang and brothers Philip and James.

A graveside service was scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham.

A reception is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Webb Hill Country Club, 438 FM 2358 in Wolfe City.
