DALTON POTEET

Denison — Dalton Foy Poteet, 86, passed away Oct. 22, 2013, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Old Klondike Cemetery with Micheal Ryer officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of the Delta Funeral Home.

Dalton was a veteran of World War II.  He enlisted Nov. 27, 1945; rose to the rank of sergeant; was a radio mechanic technician in 46 2nd Bond Sq., 7th Bomb G.P; and was honorably discharged Nov. 26, 1948.

Dalton was born in Klondike Oct. 21, 1927, to Marvin Olen and Winnie Maude Bowman Poteet. He graduated from Klondike High School in 1945 and attended East Texas State Teachers College before entering the service. Dalton was single.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1992, mother in 2005 and brother Olen Laboy Poteet in 1999.

Survivors include his sister, Freda Wilson; a brother-in-law, Jowayne Wilson of Commerce; five nieces; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
