Rains girls finish 10th at region golf meet

— POTTSBORO — Rains finished 10th and the Community Lady Braves wound up 15th at the Region II-3A girls golf tournament on Tuesday at Tanglewood Golf Resort.
Brin Beaver fired rounds of 100 and 116 for a 216 total to lead Rains to a 922 team total. Rains carded rounds of 443 and 479.
Frisco Wakeland (365-363-728) won the team title and Mabank (389-378-767) was second.
Grace Jones (111-113-224) was next for Rains, followed by Kaylie Beasley (117-112-239), Marlee Canada (115-128-243) and Jessica Hart (161-153-314).
Community finished with rounds of 546 and 481 for a 1,027 total.
Ashly Webb (124-103-227) led the Lady Braves, followed by Maci Newton (132-117-249), Ashley Crosetti (134-126-260) and Meg McCroan (156-135-291).
Sarah Hays (115-99-214) of Commerce finished in a tie for 34th.
Taylor Jordan (113-128-233) from Royse City tied for 56th.
Whitley Patterson (73-72-145) from Glen Rose earned medalist honors and Chantry McMahan (78-73-151) of Kaufman finished second.
