CHS baseball team wins 13-2 Tuesday at Alba-Golden

COMMERCE — Jumping ahead with three runs in the top of the first, the Commerce High School Baseball team never looked back as they won at Alba-Golden 13-2 on Tuesday.

Juniors Josh McKeithen and Sam Wells brought their bats out, both with three RBIs on the night.

Wells was 2-4 at the plate, and McKeithen got three hits in his four plate appearances, including his second triple of the season.

Buck Wilson shone in both batting and pitching on the night, knocking in two runs on two hits, stealing one base, and striking out nine of the 17 batters he faced in his five innings pitched.

With 11 games left in the season, the Tigers are sitting at an 8-8 overall record, and tied with Quitman for third in the district at 2-1.

The Tigers will look for a win at home against Grand Saline tonight at 7 p.m., which is 0-2 in district play.
