Don your red, white and blue for the annual Bois d’Arc Fourth of July celebration, which will be held at the end of this month.
The event, which is organized by the Commerce Chamber of Commerce each year, sees thousands of community members come out to Centennial Park to celebrate the Independence Day holiday.
This year’s celebration will be held on June 30 at Commerce’s Centennial Park beginning at 6 p.m. There will be live music, vendor booths and activities for children.
The night’s festivities will conclude around 9:30 p.m. with the annual fireworks show set to music. Crowds routinely gather in surrounding areas and fill nearby parking lots to watch the show. Chamber Executive Director Paul Voss says that people have told them that it is “the best fireworks show in northeast Texas.” The show is being organized by Pyrotex based in Leonard.
Local musical acts Twisted Whisky and the Cross Trails Cowboy Church Band will be performing live during the celebration. There will be a bounce house, obstacle course and rides in the “Bash Bug” kids train for children, among other events. The Chamber will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs throughout the evening.
The cost of entry is one can of food for donation per person. The canned items will go to the Commerce Food Pantry. Wristbands for children’s activities are $5 each.
