Hunt County Judge John Horn has apparently won re-election to another term, after handily winning the Republican Party primary Tuesday night.
Candidates in two Commerce-area races were unopposed in their primaries and will face each other in November, along with possibly an independent candidate in one of the contests.
Final unofficial totals show Horn bested challenger Mike Warren by a vote of 5,711 votes (69.1 percent) to 2,554 (30.9 percent). As there were no Democratic Party, third party or independent candidates in the running, Horn is unopposed in the November general election.
The race for Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 4 will pit incumbent Democrat Jim B. Latham against Republican Frank Janda, who were unopposed in their respective primaries Tuesday, in the November general election.
The November general election contest for Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 will between incumbent Democrat Jennifer Reeves and Republican Lisa Arnold, who were also unopposed in their respective primaries Tuesday. Carol Ann Davis has filed a declaration of her intent to run as an independent candidate for the office.
