An 18 year old woman from Commerce who had been missing since Saturday was found by local law enforcement officers Monday morning in the area near Commerce High School.
Tieryunna Williams had been last seen in Commerce on Saturday. According to police scanner traffic over the weekend, law enforcement responded to a vehicle accident on State Highway 224, but upon arrival found the vehicle running with no driver to be found. Williams' drivers' license was reported to be found inside the vehicle.
After almost two full days, Williams was finally found Monday. According to a press release from the Commerce Police Department, CPD officers and Commerce ISD Police officers found the missing woman at around 10 a.m. The release goes on to state that she was found "safe and unharmed." Temperatures had dropped to below freezing overnight in Hunt County, with wind chills as low as 11 degrees.
"We wish to thank everyone that aided us in the search and return of this young woman," the release went on to state.
Scanner traffic indicated that police were in the area around Loop 178 and Sregit Drive near Commerce High School when Williams was found. A representative from Commerce ISD confirmed that she is currently a student at CHS.
