The Commerce Journal
To the editor:
I recently drove by A.L. Day School and I was appalled. Appalled first off because I am a former student. Appalled secondly because the school is a historic landmark. Is this the way the people of Commerce take care of their historical landmarks? Grass two feet high, rotten trees laying on the ground, overgrown hedges, not to mention the various problems with the schoolhouse itself.
Who is responsible for the school? The school district? The city? The place is a disgrace and needs to be cleaned up and maintained. If those responsible do not want that responsiility, they should turn the keys over to someone who does.
