Holiday closing schedules released

COMMERCE — Many government employees will have at least the middle of next week off, as city and county offices close for the Christmas holiday.

The same offices will also get an extra Wednesday off to start the new year.

Texas A&M University-Commerce will be closed Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. The 2014 spring semester begins Jan. 13. The city of Commerce, the Commerce Public Library and Hunt County offices will all be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.

Commerce ISD closed Dec. 20 and will reopen on Jan. 6.

Most State of Texas offices are scheduled to be open Monday and Tuesday, although at least some are taking off Christmas Eve or will have a skeleton crew operating. All state offices are closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

All federal government offices will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Senior Center Resources and Public Transit will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.

The business offices and the editorial department of the Commerce Journal will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
