COMMERCE — The Commerce Parks Foundation will host a SKATE competition at City Park beginning 1 p.m. Nov. 2.

Registration for the events, including SKATE (a skateboard version of HORSE), high ollie and long ollie will be held from noon to 1 p.m.

The competition is open to all ages and includes skateboards, roller blades, skates and scooters.

The event will benefit the Commerce Skatepark Project, a local grassroots effort to build a concrete, durable skatepark at Centennial Park in Commerce.

The foundation has been actively planning the park and collecting donations for more than two years, and has held numerous SKATE competition fundraisers at the City Park. Justin Hall of Commerce was the last SKATE winner back in April.

All donations are tax deductible as the Parks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity.

For more information, call the Commerce Parks Foundation at 903-886-7697 or email them at

The event wil run until 4 p.m.
