L.E. Keith Walters

COMMERCE — Mrs. L.E. Keith Walters, 87, of Commerce passed away Oct. 8, 2013, at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Oct. 11, at Stoney Point Cemetery near Blue Ridge with Mr. Johnny Michael McQueary officiating.

Visitation was from noon to 1 p.m., Oct. 11, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville.

Born Sept. 23, 1926, in San Angelo, Keith was the daughter of Cornelius and Lena Morrison McQueary. On July 6, 1946, inMcKinney, she married Vaden Odell Walters. She was a retired school cafeteria employee and a member of Fairlie Baptist Church in Fairlie.  

She is survived by her brother, Second McQueary of Fairlie; sister Jo Glen McGuffey of Greenville; and grandchildren Jeffery Daughtery, Brad Daughtery, Matthew Daughtery, Kelley Walters and Keri Walters Swenson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Mickey Ann Walters Daughtery, sons Terry and Bryan Walters, and brother John Truett McQueary.

Pallbearers will be Rickey McGuffey, Richard Ray, Paul McQueary, Phil McQueary, Truett McQueary, and Mitch Moore.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Oak Manor Nursing Home and to Drs. Rick and Tom Selvaggi for the care provided to their loved one.
