FRANK STACHOWIAK

COMMERCE — Frank Ralph Stachowiak, 87, of Commerce passed away July 24, 2012, in Oak Manor Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 5, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank Cyrus and Aurelia Rose Hauck Stachowiak. He married Anna Jean Freebairn on Jan. 5, 1946, in LaSalle, Ill.

He worked for Hallicrafters in Chicago and Elmhurst, Ill., and then worked for General Electric in Manlius, N.Y., and Newport News, Va. After retiring from GE, he moved to Commerce. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce.

He is survived by his wife of Commerce; sons David of Commerce, Bob Stachowiak and wife Dixie of Commerce, Dan Stachowiak and wife Jeanette of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Dick Stachowiak and wife Mina of Syracuse, N.Y.; daughter Cheryl Smith and husband Joe from Rome, N.Y.; brother Ed Stachowiak of Houston; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Smith and  Emily Call and husband Justin of  Rome, N.Y.,  Sarah Stachowiak and husband Tyler Hill of Seattle, Wash., Tim Stachowiak and wife Jeanne of Austin,  Zach and Bella Stachowiak of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Brent Turman and wife Liz of Dallas; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Fund, Austin Community Foundation, PO Box 5159, Austin, Texas 78763.

    Dr. Johnye Cannon Sturcken passed away at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia, Washington, on April 24, 2014, at the age of 90 after a struggle with congestive heart failure.
