COMMERCE — One hundred eight A&M-Commerce student-athletes have been named to the Spring 2013 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. The honor caps what was a tremendous academic year for Lion student-athletes in 2012-13.

In order to be eligible for the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, student-athletes must carry a 3.00 grade point average for the semester.

The 108 selections encompass all 11 Lion athletic programs, led by 37 from football, 16 from soccer and 12 each from both mens’ and women’s track and field and cross country.

The 2012-13 season had a handful of academic highlights for A&M-Commerce, including Andrew Davis of men’s basketball being named a first team Capital One Academic All-American. In addition, four Lions were named the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year for their respective sport (Brionna Minde – soccer, Davis – men’s basketball, Sara Diaz – women’s golf, Alex Kimp – men’s track and field).

The honors come on the heels of the announcement of both the President’s and Dean’s list selections for the spring 2013 semester. 20 Lion student-athletes were recognized on the President’s list, honoring those who have achieved a 4.00 grade point average for the semester, with 45 others recognized on the Dean’s list, sporting a GPA of 3.25 or better.
